BGTV’s goal is to be the preeminent choke-point for news and information about Iran for the English speaking world. BGTV will be provide access to culturally resonant content where it is either unavailable or difficult to decipher. Ultimately, we aim to create an international community that facilitates the flow of content, resources and ideas. The channel features original content in the form of video based broadcast style programming (including daily updates, a weekly show, and special reports), audio podcasts, blogs, and articles.
Our mission is to build a community around culturally resonant content. BGTV is working to create efficiencies to better take advantage of existing content through social media tools and web 2.0 capabilities. Examples include a user generated citizen journalism platform, as well as a distribution platform for existing academic content related to Iran.
